President Mnangagwa has immediately promoted 67 senior police officers to ranks between Chief Superintendent and Deputy Commissioner-General. This includes 12 Chief Superintendents advancing to Assistant Commissioner upon retirement and retired Assistant Commissioners being elevated to Commissioner.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed these promotions. Among the promoted are six new Deputy Commissioners-General: Mahoya David, Makodza Erasmus, Mubemi Kudakwashe, Makotose Priscilla, Muzah Winston, and Basera Richard Mahoya. Additionally, 12 Assistant Commissioners have been promoted to Commissioner.

Furthermore, 16 retiring Chief Superintendents were promoted to Assistant Commissioner, and 33 retiring Superintendents were promoted to Chief Superintendent.

Last month, President Mnangagwa promoted 86 senior police officers to ranks between Chief Superintendent and Commissioner. In 2018, the police force adopted a new structure to regain public confidence. Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga emphasized the police's role in achieving Vision 2030 and highlighted the need for exemplary leadership and discipline among the promoted officers. The police service continues to undergo significant transformation and recruitment efforts to bolster its ranks.
