Musicians hold soccer legends to a draw

A spirited performance from music legends saw them hold football greats to a 3-all stalemate to endorse the musicians' commitment to the annual charity match whose sixth edition was held at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday.
Musicians and football legends from across the country gathered for yet another worthy cause at Rufaro Stadium this time with an intention to raise something for the injured Tedious Matsitso, who was involved in a traffic accident and lost his leg.
Although some could not play because the teams were too bloated, the event once again brought giggles to the crowd at Rufaro Stadium as the artists had prepared for so much more than just the game.
Chief on the toast was comedian Kapfupi who showed up in his baby set kit which he calls an 'adult set'.
Kapfupi did not play, claiming he had an injury but the colorful character had his hands full appearing as a medic, chief supporter and sometimes as a coach.
It somehow proved an allegiance of mischief as Kapfupi's accomplice, the dwarf Machisa accused his team of favoritism.
On the field of play, the hero of the day was 'Young Igwe,' Peter Moyo, who scored a brace for the musicians.
For the sake of charity, musicians coach, Pastor Charles Charamba had to join forces even with the 'Ganjaman' to get the much needed result.
Although he did little in terms of coaching, Charamba claimed his 4.3.3 formation, an intricate study of other foreign teams, and rigorous training paid off at the end of the day for the musicians.
Soccer legends coach, Gibson Homela was equally impressed by both teams and hinted just maybe the 'Young Igwe' should try premiership football.
So it was at Rufaro Stadium on an afternoon full of fun and many football curtain raisers matches, one of them seeing the Electronic Media humbling a hapless Print Media 7-nil.
