The Bulawayo City Council, working with Natwecraft (Pvt) Ltd and Cabin Lock Construction, has commissioned 465 serviced residential stands in Luveve North and Emganwini, in a major boost to the city's housing delivery programme.

The latest phase saw 328 stands completed in Luveve North by Natwecraft and 137 in Emganwini by Cabin Lock. The initiative is part of public-private partnerships involving eight developers, expected to deliver up to 10,000 residential stands onto the market.

Bulawayo Mayor Councillor David Coltart said housing remained a key priority for the city in 2025.

"These multi-million-dollar projects demonstrate our commitment to providing quality serviced stands for home seekers. We are focused on inclusive housing that caters to the financial capacity of all residents, with both medium- and high-density options available," he said.

Natwecraft managing director Mr Nkululeko Moyo said the company was proud to deliver stands that meet national development standards.

"This initiative not only provides homes but also creates jobs, uplifting livelihoods in our communities," he said.

Cabin Lock managing director Mr Tamsanqa Matobela said his firm had partnered the council in 2020 to service Emganwini Phase 4, where 150 stands have now been completed.

"We anticipate completing two more phases by year-end, bringing the total to 473 stands," he said.

The commissioning underscores Bulawayo's drive to meet rising demand for housing through strategic partnerships with the private sector.
