Zimbabwean fintech firm EazzyPay has unveiled an innovative digital payment platform designed to simplify and unify business and individual transactions, in a move expected to boost convenience and deepen financial inclusion across the country.
The new platform - accessible through a mobile app, WhatsApp bot, and web portal - allows users to purchase electricity tokens, airtime, and data bundles, as well as pay bills, book event tickets, and access corporate services such as virtual fiscalisation and bulk airtime solutions.
Launched in Harare yesterday, EazzyPay said its goal is to streamline fragmented payment systems into a single, secure ecosystem that serves both businesses and individuals.
"Our mission is to simplify payments and empower communities through accessible, secure and user-friendly digital financial solutions," said EazzyPay chief executive officer Revesai Nyahasha. "We believe our platform will be a catalyst for inclusive growth, replacing fragmentation with integration and convenience."
The rollout comes as Zimbabwe continues to rely heavily on digital payments. According to Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) data, total digital transactions reached ZiG205,49 billion (US$7,78 billion) in August 2025, compared to ZiG12,66 billion (US$479,88 million) in cash-based payments.
In the second quarter of the year, the value of electronic transactions processed through the National Payment Systems rose by 23,09% to ZiG655,6 billion (US$24,33 billion), reflecting surging demand for digital financial services.
EazzyPay's operations director, Alex Kuzakwawo, told NewsDay that the platform's WhatsApp integration offers both convenience and security.
"WhatsApp is end-to-end encrypted, meaning no one has access to your transaction except you," she said. "Payment validation is done by EcoCash using your PIN, which we don't access. EazzyPay simply acts as a secure third-party facilitator."
EazzyPay says it aims to bridge urban-rural payment divides and help expand digital participation, particularly among underserved communities, through its slogan - "Payments Made Easy."
