Jealous man kills his wife for 'sleeping around'

Jealousy led a Buhera man to kill his wife after suspecting her of having an extra-martial affair.
The incident happened last weekend in Muzhingi Village under Chief Makumbe.
Police confirmed the incident and appealed to members of the public with information leading to the arrest of Gibson Muzhingi (40) to contact their nearest police station.
"Alice Maribe (35) was coming from her brother's funeral from Masvingo when she met her fate.
"She prepared dinner for the family, but Gibson refused to eat it. He accused her of sleeping around. They slept in separate rooms. During the night, the infuriated Gibson woke up and stormed into a room where Alice was sleeping. He started assaulting her with a wooden axe handle on her face," said Insp Chishiri.
Gibson's step-son heard the latter crying and rushed to where the couple was. Alice was already dead.
Gibson disappeared from the scene and has never been seen.
