Teacher keeps register of all sexual encounters

A Mashonaland West schoolteacher yesterday left a Kadoma magistrate tongue-tied after he pulled out an exercise book claiming it was a "register" of all sexual encounters he had had in life.

Tendai Marimo of Martin Spur Primary School made the sensational exposé at the Civil Court where he was dragged by his ex-lover Sarah Majimo (32), who was claiming $80 maintenance for the upkeep of a minor child allegedly sired by respondent.

Marimo, who is married and has four children, disputed paternity, arguing he was unlikely the child's father considering the dates he was intimate with Majimo.

"Your worship, I admit engaging sex with applicant (Majimo) in September 2013," Marimo said.

"This is the register in which I keep records of all the women I would have had sex with and the particular dates. I maintain this register to avoid situations such as this one," said Marimo, leaving the gallery jaw-dropped.

However, Majimo insisted Marimo was the child's father and she also told the court the respondent had partly paid her bride price.

Magistrate Takudzwa Gwazemba ruled that since the respondent admitted to engage sex with the applicant during the relevant period, chances there were that he could have sired the off-spring.

Marimo then offered to pay $20, arguing her demands could not be sustained by his meagre earnings which he got from cross-border trading.

The court ordered him to pay $45 monthly pending the outcome of a paternity test.
