The looming takeover of Maleme Farm in Matebeleland South by a top civil servant has sparked outrage from surrounding communities that have been benefiting from the farm through employment opportunities.
Rodney Mashingaidze, an official from the Office of the President, is leading the bid to takeover Maleme Farm in the Matobo district.
The farm houses Ebenezer College and Shalom Campsite, an agricultural institution and popular Christian campsite.
Mashingaidze has an offer letter for the farm dated last year.
The farm presently employs more than 60 people from the community and has 80 chicken farmers who are working with the poultry out - grower scheme.
