Fifty candidates are eyeing the post of Clerk of Parliament that fell vacant in November last year following the retirement of Mr Austin Zvoma.
National Assembly Speaker Advocate Jacob Mudenda confirmed the development yesterday.
There are 50 people who applied and the committee on Standing Rules and Orders will soon start short-listing candidates for interviews.
He said short-listing and interviews could be done "anytime from now".
He declined to get into detail, saying some of the issues were administrative. Applications were closed at the end of last month.
