MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai said he is sure of winning elections in 2018 if all electoral reforms are implemented to ensure a credible poll.

Addressing his supporters in Masvingo over the weekend Tsvangirai said he had beaten President Robert Mugabe before and was ready to defeat vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa if he was nominated as a presidential candidate by his party in 2018.

"If they nominate Mnangagwa then my job to lead this country will be made easy because who is Mnangagwa when it comes to elections?" he told the cheering crowd.

The MDC-T leader said he was sure of winning presidential elections in 2018 if all electoral reforms were implemented. He reiterated his party's position that it would not participate in any future polls unless all electoral reforms are implemented.

"We have to have credible elections," said Tsvangirai. "We should have a non-partisan Zimbabwe Electoral Commission and the voters' roll should be made available to all contestants without any difficulty. If this is done then I am sure I will win the 2018 elections," he said.

On the issue of 21 former MDC–T legislators who were recalled from parliament by the party Tsvangirai said the MPs tasted their own medicine. "They have no-one to blame," he said.

Turning to the death of Time Pepukai Mudzembiri ,Tsvangirai said his party suspected foul play. The Zaka north party chairman was allegedly attacked and killed by Zanu (PF) supporters and state security agents last Wednesday. His body was recovered near Ndanga bus stop with deep cuts on the head and face.
