Power Sales shop up in flames
24 Jun 2015 at 19:32hrs | Views
Gwanda Power Sales shop is up in flames. Power Sales is a division of South Africa's PEP Stores (part of Pepkor) and one of the leading retailers in Zimbabwe with more than 200 stores nationwide.
According to former mayor Lionel De Necker, the Gwanda fire brigade rushed to the scene but ran out of water during the firefighting process.
It is not clear what sparked the fire but sources claim that foul play is suspected.
Fraud amounting to $20,000 was recently detected at the shop and management ordered that a stocktake, which is currently underway, be conducted.
Sources told Bulawayo24.com that they believe this might be a desperate bid to destroy evidence.
