A Harare woman has exposed his husband who is a pastor - Titus Pande who is said to be in a habit of urinating in the family's drinking water buckets.

The pastor also routinely insults his wife, a court heard.

Pande's alleged habit was revealed by his wife Jessica, when the couple appeared before civil court magistrate Barbara Mateko on Thursday.

This was after Pande had sought a protection order against his wife and their two children.

"My husband is in the habit of urinating in the drinking water buckets, yet the toilet door is just opposite our bedroom door," Jessica said.

She also told the court that her husband was in the habit of constantly insulting her by calling her a witch and also refusing to eat the food she would have prepared.

Pande had approached the court seeking protection from his wife and their two children, Rodwell and Rutendo.

The trio challenged Pande's claims saying, instead, it was him who was of a violent disposition in the family.

At one point, Jessica said Pande fabricated assault charges against her and their two children, resulting in them being detained and spending a night in police cells.

Jessica also claimed the family had been living happily until recently when Pande lost his job.

"My husband lost his job this year and I think he is taking out his frustrations on me," she said.

In granting the protection order, Mateko said, having taken into consideration what Jessica and Pande had told the court, there was conflicting evidence between them, hence they should try to settle their disputes in peace.

Eventually, the magistrate granted the order in Pande's favour, but ordered him to respect Jessica as his wife.

"Every one of you should know their place in the family, the children should respect both parents and the parents should respect each other too," Mateko said.
