'Boycott Air Zimbabwe'

A cross section of Zimbabweans have reacted angrily to the appointment of President Robert Mugabe's son in law Simba Chikore as Air Zimbabwe new chief operating officer.
Chikore's appointment comes barely two months after the late Vice-President Simon Muzenda's son, Ripton, was appointed AirZim's chief executive officer.
The appointment places Chikore at the heart of the struggling national airline.
Social media users on Wednesday said Air Zimbabwe should be boycotted.
@Ali_naka said "Air Simbabwe is the national Airline in Mugababwe Republic "Boycott #AirZimbabwe".
Former Finance Minister and People's Democratic Party leader Tendai Biti said
"How does someone who has never run a tuck shop become COO of a major even though broken parastatal.
"A new low even by their standards".
@Slimsem1 "He used his superior CV boasting of feats such as being the son in law for Bob to outshine other candidates".
In September, Air Zimbabwe splashed adverts seeking to engage a chief operating officer, manager (finance), manager (flight operations), manager (maintenance), manager (corporate services), manager (corporate quality, safety and security) and executive manager airline systems and administration.
It sought people with a minimum experience of 10 years in similar positions.
