Joshua Nkomo's business empire crumbles

The late Vice President Joshua Nkomo's business empire has reportedly fallen on hard times, with his family members now contemplating disposing some of the units, as they no longer afford to keep it afloat.

His daughter Thandi Nkomo-Ebrahim recently wrote to Bulawayo City Council seeking rates exemptions and a write-off of some debts at the late nationalist's business units in the city.

But councillors at Wednesday's meeting turned down the request citing the local authority's financial difficulties.
