CIO imposter nabbed at Mpandawana

A man from Majengwa village in Gutu who allegedly forged Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) identity card which he used as a getaway passport from Police roadblocks since he had no license has been nabbed.
He appeared before Gutu magistrate Edwin Marecha on Friday last week facing charges of impersonation, escaping from lawful custody and driving without driver`s license.
It is alleged that Edmore Chifamba (23) who was pirating along Gutu – Buhera Road with a silver Toyota Noah initially passed through the police after he flashed a green 'CIO'card.
As the accused was driving back, the police pulled over Chifamba and led him to the station since they were suspicious about his identity card which he had earlier flashed.
It is the State's case that the police could not find any matching documents against which the accused had produced.
Sensing the danger, Chifamba bolted out of the charge office as Constable Mugutwa was preparing the docket but he was however, caught.
The accused was compelled to pay $200 fine or he was to spend 3 months in prison if he fail to meet the stipulated obligations by 15 November 2016.
