A Mthwakazi activists Mqondisi Ndebele has lamented that Mthwakazi will never be free until its citizens do away with cowardice.

"My heart bleeds as I transfer my feelings into written words, I cannot fully express what is transpiring in my busy mind there are no words that can explain this unbecoming behavior I come across every now and then," he said.

"Mthwakazi will never be free if we continue with our cowardice ways and sellout tendencies. The former is very dangerous because inbuilt fear is destructive to one's self neither is the latter far away from one's self. As the people of Matabeleland and Midlands we need to wake up and smell the coffee, there is this barbaric act by the satanic ruling party of appeasing our people and to one's amazement the latter jumps at the dangling bone without any questions asked that is pathetic and uncalled for."

He said cowardice is an incurable condition detrimental to one's success.

"I understand the implications of Gugurahundi to the people of the region, but folding hands and doing nothing about it is cowardice. Being scared to fight for your freedom and rights and frequently reminding fellow citizens that the Gugurahundists might unleash another genocide hence we must obey is cowardice of the last degree," he said.

"Our people have developed an inferiority complex which has automatically granted the enemy an upper hand and helps them suppress any blossoming threat. One can understand that the grandfathers of Zimbabwe have terrorised the communities as well as their nieces by the name of green bombers, unleashed waves of violence in the better part of Mthwakazi, but that does not mean that our fight has to stop, Mzilikazi was a brave and courageous being lets take from him and conquer."

"Sellouts ,as we all know that in the olden days these kind of characters were dealt with accordingly, that same menu must be served in today's politics. In this case I have been observing a rather disturbing development in our people of being sellouts. Present day politics is characterized by propaganda and appeasement to me if you fall for either of the two or both you have sold the future of your children," he added.

He said they have seen ZANU PF developing roads in remote Mthwakazi areas over a week only to find out that they would be having a rally in that area.

"Worse case scenario we have seen Mugabe and his crew landing on helicopters to address people in the underdeveloped areas because there are no roads to drive on. Allow me to take Nkayi as a case study, can Mugabe drive on Bulawayo to Nkayi road? Never! But people in that area continue to vote for him even if there have never been a drop of development since the commencement of this reign of terror," he said.

"Nkayi has no proper infrastructure for example hospital or clinics, proper schools, in short there is no development at all, yet come election time ZANU PF gives villagers rice and torches in exchange for their votes, hence they dance until their feet are swollen that is selling the future of our children. As for lack of development its not only Nkayi but the whole of Matabeleland north as we have never seen any tenders being filled for any project hence the unemployment rate is close to 100%. I would also like to urge the youths to refrain from deforming themselves by being used by the ZANU PF thugs to terrorise their fellow citizens in exchange for Ingwebu and meaningless goodies, this is rapidly destroying our society."

He said taking into cognisance that, our people were terrorised to the maximum and a sense of fear instilled in their psychological being during Gugurahundi, one has to note that what does not kill you makes you stronger therefore let us pick up the pieces and fight ferociously.

"We have all seen our mistakes being summed up by two words above, therefore, let us correct them by working together and creating a network of societies that are intertwined and coexist in a harmonious environment. This can be achieved by choosing people we know to be our leaders in our respective areas and only MRP can offer that package, lets not be sellouts and cowards in our forefathers land. Lets rebuild our society and employ our children in relevant vacancies rather than considering outsiders over our own kinsman," he said.

"The benefit of employing a local person is that children understand better at school when spoken to in a familiar language. In hospitals some deaths occur as a result of communication breakdown or misunderstanding instructions because of language barrier. If we employ our own people of the area as police men and soldiers they will never follow an order that tells them to terrorise villagers whom they were brought up by. Fellow mthwakazians my heart bleeds as I see all these stunts being pulled by the villian of the rulling party, it hurts more when you see our people falling for his trap now and again, let us open our eyes and see the situation with sober eyes."

He said he wondered why the shona hegemony likes Mthwakazi the way they do the answer is simple 'exploitation'.

"These supremists are no different to the colonisers, they transfer wealth from our region to Mashonaland. The Mthwakazi border gates generate a large sum of money, Beitbridge to Bulawayo road collects a lot of revenue, Victoria falls sees the influx of tourists who bring in a lot of forex among others yet it is the underdeveloped region in the country. We need to correct all the wrongs that have been done by the system to the region, the only way is to vote MRP sibisele ubuntu ebantwini sivuselele amasiko ethu, now the ball is in your court whatever decision you make today will affect you either way tomorrow be it positively or negatively," he said.
