CHIEF Hobodo from Mayobodo area in Plumtree, Matabeleland South, has died. He was 80.
His daughter and family spokesperson Mrs Dorcas Ncube said her father died after a long illness.
"My father, whose birth name is Seenom Mathius Ncube, died on Wednesday at Brunapeg Hospital after a long illness," said his daughter.
She said her father had left a void that would be hard to fill both in the family and Mayobodo area.
Chief Hobodo was educated at Mpandeni Mission before he became a teacher at Makorokoro Primary School in Mangwe.
He also became a builder for District Development Fund (DDF) before he was promoted to being a supervisor.
"He became the headman of the area in 2001 and assumed the chieftainship in 2007," said Mrs Ncube.
Mourners are gathered at his homestead and the burial date is yet to be advised.
