Matabeleland North Zanu-PF provincial chairman Richard Moyo said 30 buses have been arranged to ferry people to Somhlolo Stadium in Lupane today where President Mugabe will address his first star rally in Matabeleland ahead of the forthcoming 31 July elections.
"We are ready to host the President. As we speak 30 buses have been sent to transport people from all districts.
"Umguza district has 10 buses, Victoria Falls and Hwange have five buses each while Nkayi, Binga, Bubi, Lupane and Tsholotsho have been allocated two buses each," said Moyo.
"The buses have been donated by Dr Obert Mpofu. Tsholotsho district has three additional trucks. These buses and trucks exclude other private vehicles that party members would use.
"This is a great day for Matabeleland North and we are so happy to meet our President. We have worked tirelessly to mobilise support for the party and we know the President will be impressed because Matabeleland North is no longer the losing ground. The province is totally different now."
Tomorrow Mugabe will hold another star rally at Pelandaba Stadium in Gwanda Town.
"All roads lead to Matabeleland South on Saturday and as a province we are happy to meet the people," said Andrew Langa, the provincial chairman for Matabeleland South and National Assembly candidate for Insiza North.
Mugabe has been addressing star rallies since last week with tens and thousands of people attending, an indication that the revolutionary party is poised for victory come 31 July.
