Death toll rises in Gwanda accident

Three people have died following a horrific car crash in Gwanda on Saturday. Nompilo Dube and her son Decent Nhliziyo died on Saturday afternoon when a taxi veered off the road and hit them as they walked by the roadside.

Admire Mabhena a passenger in the taxi died at Gwanda hospital where he worked as a nurse after succumbing to multiple injuries.

The driver of the taxi is reportedly admitted at a Bulawayo hospital while the driver of the Granvia, Nhlanhla Motsetloe who is suspected to have been drank is still at large after fleeing the accident scene.

The two vehicles reportedly sideswiped before the taxi rolled hitting the pedestrian mother and her child who clung to her back.

Dube and her son are from Garanyemba village while Mabhena is from Phakama township in Gwanda.
