Woman 'locks' husband's manhood

A Victoria Falls woman last Friday told a magistrate that she hired a prophet to make her husband fail to sustain an erection each time he tried to sleep with a mistress.
Faith Ndlovu (25) appeared as a witness in the trial of her husband Lindani Mathuthu (36) before Victoria Falls resident magistrate Sharon Rosemani on Friday for assaulting her over the matter.
Mathuthu pleaded not guilty to physical abuse and the case was remanded to October 3 for continuation of trial.
He told the court Ndlovu had "locked" his underwear using a tricycle key with two red threads hanging from it.
Mathuthu told the court that he was grossly provoked by his wife's behaviour after she took his black underwear and locked it with a tricycle key tied to two red threads allegedly on the advice of her friends and a prophet.
He told the court that he did not beat up his wife, but only pushed her while demanding an explanation as to why she had "locked" him.
"Your worship, I did not beat my wife. I only pushed her as I was angry that she had locked me and if I had not taken that action, I could still be less than a man up to now. It is even causing problems between me and my girlfriend as she has rejected me," Mathuthu said.
"On September 12 at about 2am, I got home and checked in the wardrobe and to my surprise, I found my black underwear locked and I have a picture of the locked pants with me here. I asked her why she had done that and she told me that it was a way of punishing me."
The State's case presented by Takunda Ndovorwi was that on September 12 at around 2am, Mathuthu arrived home and had a misunderstanding with Ndlovu over an undisclosed matter.
Ndlovu ran away from home and slept at her parents' house before returning home at around 7am the next day. The State alleged that Mathuthu assaulted Ndlovu by knocking her with a knee on the ribs and slapping her three times on the face.
On September 17, Mathuthu twisted her neck after another misunderstanding over adultery allegations against his wife. The matter was reported to the police and the complainant was referred to hospital. Ndlovu admitted in court that she had locked her husband.
"He has a girlfriend that he has now been staying with for more than three months and he is denying me my conjugal rights. The reason l locked him is because I wanted him to stop having sexual intercourse with his girlfriend," he said.
Asked by the magistrate where she had got the idea from, Ndlovu responded: "My friends advised me to get a prophet to do that for me and I gave him the underwear and we locked it and it seems to be working because he has eventually come back home complaining that his manhood has stopped performing."
Legal experts, however, warned that Ndlovu could be charged for pretending to be a witch since she agreed in court that she had indeed "locked" her husband.
