JEALOUSY got the better of a Gweru man who allegedly struck his girlfriend with a pot on the head and head-butted her resulting in her losing two teeth for speaking to other men.
Donovan Wesley Moyo, 24, an employee of Fair Mile Hotel and resident of Ascot Extension in Gweru, was convicted of assault and remanded in custody to today for sentencing by magistrate Tendai Madanire.
Moyo had entered a plea of not guilty but was found guilty of the crime.
For the state, Bernard Nyoni told the court that on September 17 this year, victim Patricia Mazise, who was Moyo's girlfriend before the incident, had a fallout with Moyo.
The court heard that Moyo was accusing her of speaking to many men which made him feel insecure.
Mazise told Moyo that she was free to speak to anyone.
Nyoni said this angered Moyo who took a cooking pot which was nearby and hit Mazise once on the heard.
Nyoni said Moyo went on to head-butt his girlfriend on the mouth and she lost two of her front teeth in the process.
