The Meteorological Services Department has today warned of near record-breaking high temperatures with some areas recording up to 43°C.
The extreme hot conditions will persist up to Wednesday, the Met department said.
"The weather is expected to be hazy and hot to very hot in all provinces," it said in a statement.
"Please Note: The Meteorological Services Department wishes to advise the public of very hot weather expected to affect the whole country on Monday 31 October and Tuesday 1 November 2016.
"The conditions (near record-breaking high temperatures both during the day and at night) are forecast to range from 33°C to 43°C".
The Department strongly advised people against extended exposure to direct sunlight as there is very little ozone to protect the skin.
"The usual health related protection measures should be maximized".
