Mwonzora's wings must be clipped

WHEN is MDC Alliance leader Douglas Mwonzora going to stop all these senseless recalls?
By recalling elected members, Mwonzora is:
- Denying citizens the right to be represented by those they chose to be their leaders
- Causing confusion in the political field
- Reinforcing the notion that elections are a waste of time
- Giving Zanu-PF the space to do what it pleases against the will of the majority
- Forcing by-elections to be called nearly every month until the 2023 elections
- Costing the country through holding by-elections it can ill-afford.
On top of all these, he is calling for the March 26 byelections to be cancelled on the grounds that it will be a waste of money and because the general elections are a year away.
He knows that by-elections have got to be held within three months of a seat becoming available, now that COVID-19 is no longer an excuse. The law cannot be bent to suit him and his ilk because they know they will be exposed for having no support.
When they are exposed, will they hang on to the money they received under the Political Parties (Finance) Act or surrender it to those who earned it, for example those elected on the Nelson Chamisa-led party ticket under whatever name?
After all it is taxpayers' money and Mwonzora, etal, knew that they were not the rightful beneficiaries and should not have accepted it in the first place.
When the Zanu-PF government is replaced, will there be a court ruling to overturn the MDC name heist and give Citizens Coalition for Change a chance to get the millions of dollars back from the MDC leaders, including MDC-T leader Thokozani Khupe?
