Wikileaks exposes Zimbabwean politicians
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">It has now become clear that recent publications by the whistle blowing Wikileaks cables had shown that our politicians are two-faced backbiting opportunists.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">Some of our politicians and leaders are in their positions by default as they are not man enough to come up with constructive ideas that can build up our country.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">Revelations by Wikileaks had shown that some Zimbabweans are good at trying to fool each other into believing that they are in it for the Zimbabwean cause whilst they are Nicodemeously bad-mouthing the very cause to our sworn enemies.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">It is surprising to note that senior politicians within both ZANU PF and MDC-T had failed to openly confront their leaders on matters of policy but decided to pour out their hearts and frustrations to our antagonists.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">Is it not more ideal to advise your leader on matters of party policy than to go about having gossip with another person who have no control over how your political party can be run.
#000000"> Wikileaks had revealed that some of the MDC-T officials like Roy Bennett, Obert Gutu and Nelson Chamisa were openly meeting American diplomats accredited to
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">Bennett is reported to have shown frustrations when Morgan Tsvangirai failed to return home during his self-imposed exile in
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">Tsvangirai cited security threat if he returned home a notion that was dismissed by Bennett who said that if ZANU PF wanted to assassinate him , they can do it anywhere even in Botswana.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">Had Bennett been bold enough, he could have faced the bull by its horns, he could have told his boss openly that he should return home than going about tarnishing the image of his boss to the Americans. By his statements Bennett showed the Americans that Tsvangirai was a coward leader whose fears were imaginary.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">On the same note Obert Gutu and Nelson Chamisa took the opportunity to question the leadership credentials of their president to the American diplomats instead of dealing with that problem within their party.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">What type of leadership is this being shown by these Zimbabwean politicians? Is it wrong or taboo to question the leadership credentials in important meetings where MDC-T National Executive Council meetings are held. The MDC-T has a National Executive Council, which comprises of the highest decision body of that party where such issues could be raised.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">That National Executive council of the MDC-T could have been ideal arena used by Bennett, Chamisa and Gutu to air out their views than air their dirty linen in public.
#000000">On another note some ZANU PF politburo members were also revealed as having had heart-to-heart with the Americans whilst they could have used politburo meetings to air out their frustrations.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">ZANU PF members Saviuor Kasukuwere, Sikhanyiso Ndlovu, Gideon Gono and others found it necessary to apprise the Americans that for ZANU PF to withstand the pressure brought out by MDC-T, there was need for leadership reform.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">What surprises most is that ZANU PF politburo meetings are held constantly and every year in December, ZANU PF holds People's Conferences where such issues can be discussed. Why did those members found it necessary to assume that it was good to air out their views to the Americans when proper channels were available in the party.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">The truth of the matter is good leaders like President Mugabe who even when confronted with sanctions from the Americans and the Europeans, cannot sell out are rare to find. President Mugabe had been resolute in defending the ideals of the armed struggle, which brought independence.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">Let us imitate the legacy from such a good Statesman so that our children get to know the true Zimbabwean story. Do not leave behind the Third Chimurenga, which brought black empowerment.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">It is ideal for these leaders who are selling out to make a self-examination and find way to make amends.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">On the other hand, the matter of Wikileaks publications, which had now become a subject of discussions in the country must be handled carefully in order not to destabilize the support base of revolutionary party, ZANU PF.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">Since it had come clear that leadership reform is needed in both political parties, I think the witch hunting crusade must cease but use the Wikileaks publications as a basis to chat the way forward.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">It is high time that such issues, which make the country, go forward be resolved. I think it is wrong to pretend that everything is right when Wikileaks publications had revealed that weaknesses in our midst.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">So the people concerned must take Wikileaks publications serious and use them as a platform to correct everything that needs attention as raised by those people to the Americans.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">There is no need to create a situation where lives of those who were caught on the wrong side of the law are punished but the need must be for the concerned people to correct what was raised and chat the way forward.
#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">So the ball is in their court.
