Zimbabwe has include left-arm seamer Brian Vitori and all-rounder Malcolm Waller in its squad for the tri-series against Australian and South African A sides.
Fast bowler Keegan Meth has been deemed fit enough despite pulling out of a two-day practice game last week, but legspinner Graeme Cremer has been ruled out by injury.
Brendan Taylor, who has just been unveiled as the new national captain, will lead in the one-day games while batsman Vusi Sibanda has been put in charge of a second-string side to play the warm-up at Kwekwe Sports Club, starting on July 11.
A 32-man squad had been in camp since early June, and despite a spate of injuries the team's backroom staff were upbeat ahead of the start of a season in which Zimbabwe's Test readiness will be tested.
Vitori, 21, is the latest seamer to be given a chance to prove his credentials as Zimbabwe search for fast bowlers with the consistency to succeed at the highest level.
Meanwhile, Waller, who was not part of the 32-man training squad as he was playing club cricket in Holland, has been rewarded for a fine season with the Midwest Rhinos.
The limited-overs side will be led by new captain Brendan Taylor, while the two-day team will be skippered by Vusi Sibanda, who was the other main candidate for the captaincy after the selectors decided to relieve Elton Chigumbura of the responsibility.
