Bosso's Kaindu returns

HIGHLANDERS head coach Kelvin Kaindu arrived yesterday afternoon from his native home Zambia and said he was going straight into training in preparation for the 2013 Castle Lager Premiership.
Kaindu dropped off from a luxury coach from Victoria Falls, where he put up on Sunday night and said his first port of call was to visit the late Adam "Adamski" Ndlovu's family to pay his condolences after he failed to attend the burial of former Warriors striker.
The Zambian national transformed Bosso into a formidable side last year, taking them to position two in the league after a 23-match unbeaten run.
"We are starting training today (yesterday) and I am sure it is going to be a good year. We are going to work on what we achieved last year and there is always room for improvement," Kaindu said.
The Zambian gaffer said no changes should be expected to his team, but there was one local player that had impressed him. Kaindu said bringing any new players to last year's squad would depend on the number of players that would be leaving the club.
He would, however, not be persuaded to name the player that had caught his eye.
Kaindu said he would not be holding trials.
"Do I look like I need trials? I don't need trials! It is difficult for me to say there are any players that will be coming in at this time. That will depend if there are any players that we will lose. If we have all the players that we had last year, I think we will maintain our team," Kaindu said.
However, there are players from other clubs who have been tipped to join the Bulawayo football giants this year and these include Monomotapa's Tendai Ngulube, Bantu Rovers' Kevin "Scopo" Sibanda, Chicken Inn's Kudakwashe Mahachi and Eastern Region Division One Hippo Valley striker Dominic Chungwa who played as guest player for Bosso in the Mayor's Christmas Cheer Fund match against Chicken Inn last month.
Bosso have retained kingpin Masimba Mambare and the other Castle Lager Soccer Star of the Year finalists Ariel Sibanda, skipper Innocent Mapuranga and anchorman Mthulisi Maphosa.
Also returning are Milton Ncube, Graham Ncube, Peter "Rio" Moyo, Eric "Tsiba" Mudzingwa, Bhekimpilo "Barça" Ncube, Bruce Kangwa, Bruce Tshuma, Lawson Nkomo, Simon Munawa and the youthful Ozias Zibande.
Kaindu said the issue of the technical team's members - whose contracts expired on December 31 - was not his area, but he would only be able to make a comment after meeting with the executive.
"It's difficult for me to comment on the coaches; I can only comment when I have met with the executive as you might be aware of their meetings on Mondays. The secretary (Andrew Tapela) would be the right person to talk to. But people should not be afraid, I am here, I am around by the grace of God," Kaindu said.
Contracts for assistant coach Bekithemba "Super" Ndlovu, goalkeepers' coach Tembo Chuma and welfare manager Amin Soma-Phiri expired at the end of the year and club chairman Peter Dube last Friday said the contracts would be reviewed according to performance to the best interests of the club.
