Castle Lager Premiership side Tsholotsho have successfully applied for the use of White City Stadium as their home ground for the 2016 season from the Bulawayo City Council (BCC).

According to the latest council minutes the club, through its chairman Malamuli Phiri, had written to BCC seeking permission to use the venue ahead of the new season which kicks-off next month.

The local authority's Director of Housing and Community Services last month recommended that authority be granted to Tsholotsho at the usual hiring rate of $655.88 per match.

It was also resolved that for high profile matches Tsholotsho would have to hire Barbourfields Stadium whose fee was pegged at $2 211.50 per match.

Tsholotsho usually shifts to Barbourfields when playing either Highlanders or Harare giants Dynamos and CAPS United.

In the report, the Lizwe Sweswe-coached side, who survived relegation on the last day of last season, were also ordered to pay a security deposit for every booking they make which shall be refundable if there are no damages to the facilities.

In addition, Iziqholo Zezhwane was also advised to sign a lease agreement with BCC for the duration of the 2016 season.

For the better part of last season, Tsholotsho used White City as their homeground but they had not entered a watertight agreement with the local authority.

Although White City was renovated ahead of the African Union Sports Council Region V Youth Games in 2014, most players have complained about the uneven terrain of the pitch.
