CATCH them young is the phrase which may apply to this young Zimbabwean soccer player who is now at Wolverhampton academy.

Ebenezer Mutoko, who would be turning 13 next month, is relishing his dream of playing professional football one day.  The boy lives in England with his parents.

He was spotted by the scouts of the club while playing soccer for his primary team at Christ Church school.

The young player is already dreaming that maybe one day he would turn into a fine athlete and probably play for his national team.

Yesterday, speaking from his base, the boy spoke of life at the academy where they live and eat football.

"I remember whilst playing at school, l didn't know that Warstone club had been contracted by Wolverhampton academy and had their scouts coming to observe me.

"They were hugely impressed and they approached my parents when l was eight years and they took me to their academy.

"Life is completely different there. l am being treated like a real professional and they made me believe that l will grow up to be a very good footballer.

"Life in the academy is dominated by sessions, watching and and analysing videos of games we won, drew or would have lost. Our diet is also monitored. It is fun and I like it.

"We play matches with teams across England and compete against teams such as Legion Loins and Neverton," said Mutoko.

The young player is hoping that in the next six years his career will have blossomed.

"In the fullness of time, l believe l would be able to play for my country. I now have a feeling that only the sky is the limit.

"In six years time, l see myself playing for Zimbabwe and Barcelona. I think l have enough talent to become a good footballer.

"It would also have my parents's pride as they love their country and so do l," said Mutoko.

The boy has since won a number of awards.

"I have been rewarded with a number of awards such as the Golden boot and the coach's player of the year.

"My Under-14 team also came up in first last season.

We have also won a number of trophies," said Mutoko.

The sky will only be the limit for this young soccer player as a growing number of players in the England continue to have blossoming careers and hope one day they will make the grade into a formidable Warriors team.
