Zimbabwe claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Zambia in the Mukuru Four Nations Cup final, sealing the title in dramatic fashion after substitute Junior Zindoga's decisive contribution led to an 88th-minute own goal.

The Warriors endured a difficult first half, with Zambia controlling large spells of possession and putting the Zimbabwe defence under sustained pressure. Chipolopolo captain Abraham Siankombo was particularly influential, repeatedly testing the back line.

Zimbabwe briefly thought they had taken the lead just before the interval when Macauley Bonne found the net, but the goal was disallowed for offside, leaving the match goalless at halftime.

After the break, Zambia continued to press forward, while Zimbabwe gradually grew into the contest. Jalai came close with a powerful strike that was comfortably dealt with by the Zambian goalkeeper, while Bonne and Bill Antonio also created promising chances that went unfinished.

The breakthrough came after Zimbabwe made a key tactical change in the 64th minute, introducing Junior Zindoga in place of Selemani. The substitution proved decisive, with Zindoga's late attacking pressure forcing an error that resulted in an own goal in the 88th minute.

The goal sparked jubilant celebrations among Zimbabwe supporters, who had dominated the stands throughout the match, as the Warriors held on to secure their first Mukuru Four Nations Cup title.
