Zimbabwe's Mighty Warriors have made history by winning their first ever COSAFA Trophy after beating South Africa's Banyana Banyana by a goal to nil in a match played at Rufaro Stadium this afternoon.
Euphoria ripped apart Rufaro Stadium as the Mighty Warriors lifted their first COSAFA trophy.
The Mighty Warriors resolute in both their attack and defence had to patiently wait for one simple mistake by the three time COSAFA champions, South Africa to crack at goal and run away with the coveted trophy.
With agitated supporters rallying behind the hosts who were often living dangerously and player of the tournament, Janine Van Wyk hovering in Banyana Banyana's defence, scoring seemed unachievable until the 82nd minute when Rudo Neshamba set up Rufaro Machingura who buried a header past the huge South African goalkeeper.
