PARLIAMENT must form a Committee to investigate the operations of the Sports Commission and the Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) during the Asiagate scandal.
The Asigate scandal saw Zifa officials assembling some bogus national soccer teams that travelled to Asian countries like Singapore for "private" matches arranged with football criminals.
The proposal made was during an address in the House of Assembly by Kambuzuma lawmaker – Wilias Madzimure on September 22 this year.
"We also want to determine the role played by the Sports Commission or their officials in the commission of the Asiagate corruption.
"We want the commission to look at the possibility of creating a law which will deal with the criminal aspect of the game which you find in the various statues of the criminal aspects of the sports bodies.
"It is not well clarified what constitutes a crime and when a crime should be handed over to the authorities of the country," Madzimure said.
The lawmaker added that the committee should do an audit of the Warriors Trust, which he alleged swindled the country huge sums of money in the name of fundraising for the national soccer team.
