The trial of the Caps United player Archiford Gutu failed to kick off after his defence lawyer applied for a post postponement in the matter.

Gutu's lawyer Tinofara Hove applied for the matter to be postponed to June 13 saying he wanted to instruct Advocate Lewis Uriri to handle the matter.
Prosecutor Chrispen Chikafu did not oppose the application before magistyrate Tafadzwa Muvhami.

Gutu is being charged with malicious damage to property after he allegedly smashed Tendai Nhunzvi's car during a road rage dispute. Circumstances leading to Gutu's arrest are that on April 17 this year at around 4am he was driving out of a long Cheng Complex while Nhunzvi was also driving his car on the right side going the same direction.

When they reached a point where Nhunzvi wanted to turn left while Gutu wanted to turn right their vehicles collided. Gutu stormed out of the car and charged at Nhunzvi  accusing him of failing to drive. Nhunzvi closed his car  and Gutu tried to open  but failed and he picked an object which he used to smash the windscreen and was later arrested.
