WISDOM Mutasa's dream of playing for Dynamos received a major boost yesterday when ZPC Kariba finally cleared him after an impasse that dragged on for about two weeks.
The midfielder said he wants to make a difference at the country's biggest football club. Mutasa is now set to play for the Glamour Boys who have been struggling of late and are coached by his father Lloyd.
"We have cleared him. I even spoke to his father. We finally received the money that we wanted and by the end of today (yesterday) the PSL will have received the clearance," ZPC Kariba secretary-general, Robert Mamvura, said.
Mutasa said he needed to help his father who has come under intense pressure at DeMbare following a poor run of results.
"It has been a painful process and a long wait for me and all I need is to fight for the cause of my father and for the cause of the institution called Dynamos that I have admired for so long," said Mutasa.
"I can't wait to play and I will be donning the number 42 jersey as I am an admirer of Yaya Toure of Manchester City. My wish has always been to play for Dynamos, the team that gave my father his fame.
"I am going to do my best for the club and try and please the fans.
"Dynamos are a very big club and all I want is to work hard with other players and bring back the glory days. I am not affected by the lay-off because I have been training with the team while I was waiting for my clearance.
"I am aware that I might not have an automatic place, but I believe in my capacity and also in the Almighty. I think it's every player's dream to play for Dynamos and I am not an exception.
"My heart is blue and has always been blue. I want to do more for the club and my appeal is to the fans is to rally behind us."
The promising midfielder who turned 21 on May 15 is comfortable playing behind the main strikers.
DeMbare gaffer, Mutasa, said he was aware of the pressure on his shoulders.
"When a coach does duty he is expected to bring positive results, especially in the second half of the season when the race hots up," said Mutasa.
"The destiny of the league is not in our hands, but as Dynamos we will try and accumulate as many points from the remaining 36 that are at stake and see what happens at the end of the season.
"I am happy that Wisdom has finally come back home and I am welcoming him. He is part of the players I always wanted. We have managed to get all the players we requested except for Takunda Sadiki.
"We are still to receive his ICT."
He said the fans will always rally behind DeMbare.
"The real Dynamos fans I know will cheer their team even when the chips are down," said Mutasa.
"We have a tough assignment against Bulawayo City, but I am expecting a positive result. I just believe the good days will be back. We are trying to build a great foundation."
Bulawayo City said they are eyeing victory.
"We are going to Harare with an agenda to collect maximum points. We are working hard to get results and I am very ambitious," caretaker coach Try Ncube said.
Meanwhile, Warriors' coach Callisto Pasuwa says he isn't going back to Dynamos.
"Yes, some people might want to link me with Dynamos because of the good times we had between 2011-1014 and before then when I was a player, but I am not going back there as coach," said Pasuwa.
"I am contracted to ZIFA now and I have a bigger task to try and make sure that as a nation we go and do well at the African Cup of Nations Cup finals in Gabon and possibly go beyond the group stages.
"I must also make it clear that I have never spoken to anyone at Dynamos and neither have I been approached by the Dynamos president (Kenny Mubaiwa) or anyone in his executive."
