The house that P.O Box comedy crew built is in danger of collapsing after sharp disagreements between the lead characters and the producers forced the members to part ways, The Standard Style reported.
Lead characters Admire Kuzhangaira who acts as Bhutisi and Rolland Lunga, who stars as Boss Kheda, led the revolt and formed their own version called P.O Box Reloaded.
P.O Box's marketing manager Godknows Homwe confirmed that they had parted ways, but professed ignorance of what really led to the separation.
"It is true that Bhutisi and Kedha have their own P.O Box now. I am still to know why they did that. They never talked to us. They are now doing their things and since then, they are avoiding us. They never aired their grievances and we are only left with the ladies," he said.
"We wanted to bring out the female side in our skits. We promote gender issues in a more humorous way. We are also trying to promote gender equality. The women know the issues that are affecting them and as a group, it was noble to rope in female voices."
Efforts to contact either Bhutisi or Boss Kedha were fruitless as they did not answer their phones.
However, sources said the group parted ways because the lead characters thought they could do it alone.
"Bhutisi and Boss Kedha thought that they are independent enough to do their own version. They dumped Lucky Aron who was the director and producer. He was the man behind P.O Box. Since he was working in the background, they thought he was useless," said the source.
P.O Box started as pastime for talented film professionals Kuzhangaira, Lunga and Aaron, who was the man behind the camera.
