Bicycle thief caught red handed

A man who stole a bicycle while the owner had left it by the path side when going to relieve himself in the bush was caught red-handed trying to cycle away and apprehended.

This was heard by Hwange magistrate Rosemary Dube when Vincent Mudenda (28) of Siachilaba in Binga appeared before her charged with theft.

He was further remanded for trial.

The court heard that on October 10 this year at 3:30pm the complainant martin Midimba was a Lubimbi Primary School  bus stop when accused approached him  and gave his friends them money to go and buy freezits  while he remained behind with the complainant.

The complainant left him with his bicycle while going to relive himself in the bush, and when he returned he discovered that the bicycle was missing. On check on the road he saw the accused cycling it away. A report made to the police liked to his arrest.
