Zanu PF activist Velempini Tjiyapo has said 90% of the voters during 2018 election s did not get the right leaders  who are quality tghey would want.

"I have watched and participated in the recent Electoral process in Zimbabwe. It's not for the faint hearted and idealists, it's dog eat dog out there. 90% of the voters did not get the right caliber of leaders they require but a constitutional requirement was met. Elections were held and a new government is being formed as we speak," he said.

"The campaign was not based on ideology, capability or capacity to deliver. It became an issue of which jacket and color are you putting on. That killed merit and ushered in mediocrity. The process was subverted at Primary election level and by the time we got to national elections the errors of the lower level were amplified. So for the next 5 years we have partisan elected leadership with no depth and owe their allegiance to someone having given them a safe seat. The technocrat has no space in this environment, by the way it cuts across the political divide."

He said that people need to find time to unpack democracy as an institution of governance and one man one vote as an instrument of choosing governors.
