Bulawayo based Pastor Anglistone T. Mthiyane Sibanda has absolved ZANU PF from allegations that its officials have been looting aid meant for victims of Cyclone Idai in Chipinge and Chimanimani.

Said Pastor Sibanda, "I am in Chimanimani with my team of Human Rights defenders. We were drafted into the Monitoring and Evaluation committee chaired by the D.A. We have heard stories of ZANU PF and government officials looting Cyclone Idai victims aid. We have not seen anything like that in Chipinge and Chimanimani. We only see it on social media."

Sibanda said the people of Manicaland were traumatized and they were working together in harmony to deal with the effects of the misfortune.

"If anything here people are all affected and traumatized, everyone including government officials on the ground who are working continuously without rest.

"Imagine the DA and his deputy and other government officials based in Ngangu as well as local Pastors burying 44 bodies in a single day. Without communication, without roads etc people carrying makeshift coffins and walking for 2kms."

Sibanda further called upon citizens with proof of the looting to contact him and provide the evidence.

"We are calling on anyone with evidence of looting to bring it forth so that we lobby responsible departments to act on those insensitive thieves and heartless morons if they exist. Please send me the evidence."
