Shots fired as pedophile flees from prison officers

There was drama at Mutoko magistrates courts on Friday when a ZINWA employee managed to flee from prison officers who were taking him to jail after being sentenced to a year for having sex with a minor.
Saymore Mudungwe made prison officers chase their shaddows after he took to his heels when he was being led to the prison after magistrate Elijah Sibanda convicted him.
The troubled prison officers fired shot but Mudungwe kept fleeing.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police had to unleash their sniffer dogs to catch the sprinting convict.
Prosecutor Nathan Mujuru told the court that sometime in October last year Mudungwe proposed love to the convict and she accepted.
On New's day the girl eloped to Mudungwe's place of residents and the two stayed as husband and wife for 10 days.
After 10 days her mother followed her to Mudungwe's house and took her to police station to file a report which led to the arrest of Mudungwe.
