Mines Minister Winston Chitando, representing the Government of Zimbabwe, has been extended an invitation to attend this year's World Gold Council's China Gold Congress, a premier gathering in the global minerals sector.
Scheduled to take place at the National Convention Centre in Shanghai from July 26 to 28, the conference serves as a prominent platform that brings together government officials, investors, miners, and potential buyers.
This forthcoming event marks the fourth edition of the conference, following the successful organization of three previous gatherings in China over the past three years.
Themed "Innovation-Driven, Green Development, and Shared Future," the congress aims to advocate for ethical mining practices.
"We sincerely invite you to attend and present at the conference to strengthen cooperation between Zimbabwe and China in the gold sector," states the invitation letter.
The letter further extends the invitation to Zimbabwe's gold industry stakeholders, encouraging their participation in the event for technical exchanges and investment collaboration.
The congress anticipates the attendance of over 2,000 delegates and industry leaders, along with the presence of 100 exhibitors representing 20 countries.
It's worth noting that China ranks as Zimbabwe's second-largest trading partner following South Africa.
