Man rapes teen sister over missing memory card

A 19-year-old Karoi man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for raping his 16-year-old sister over a missing memory card.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), on January 26 2025, the offender confronted his sister over a missing memory card. When she failed to locate it, the brother (offender) turned violent.
During the violent incident, he chased the sister and brutally assaulted her in an unused kitchen.
Karoi magistrates court heard that despite her attempts to escape, she was overpowered and raped.
After the assault, he further threatened to harm the sister if she disclosed the matter to anyone.
