MultiChoice donates desks, chairs to Nketa primary school

The City of Bulawayo has welcomed a generous donation of 50 desks and 50 chairs, valued at US$3,000, from MultiChoice Zimbabwe to Nketa Primary School. The contribution is part of MultiChoice's ongoing Sustainability Project, which aims to support and positively impact communities across Zimbabwe.
Speaking on behalf of the City, Director of Housing and Community Services, Mr. Dictor Khumalo, conveyed gratitude through the Principal Education Officer, Mr. Mehluleli Mpofu, describing the donation as "heart-warming" and noting that it will significantly enhance the quality of education for learners.
The school's Headmistress, Mrs. Rosemary Tshuma, represented by Deputy Head Mrs. Nokuthula Ndlovu, praised the initiative, highlighting that education is a shared responsibility. She said the new furniture would improve the learning environment, address shortages, and motivate both learners and teachers to perform better.
Representing MultiChoice Zimbabwe, Gerald Ngonyamo, Head of Corporate Affairs and Public Relations, delivered remarks on behalf of General Manager Siyabulela Jemsana, urging other businesses to invest in initiatives that help build a brighter future for children.
Ward 22 Councillor, Mmeli Moyo, also expressed appreciation to MultiChoice Zimbabwe, stating that the donation strengthens efforts to provide quality education. He encouraged learners to take care of the furniture to ensure it serves them for many years.
This donation underscores the importance of corporate social responsibility in supporting education and community development in Bulawayo.
