Local entertainment platform Nash TV has announced its closure, with owner and businessman Tinashe Mutarisi confirming that he is redirecting his focus to new ventures. Nash TV, which operated under Nash Holdings, was launched during the Covid-19 lockdown and quickly became a prominent force in Zimbabwe's arts sector, helping launch the careers of artists such as Saintfloew, Nisha Ts, Raymer, and Ninety6.

In a statement, Nash Holdings explained that entertainment operations no longer align with the company's long-term strategic direction. While the platform will cease direct management of artists, the statement emphasized that guidance and support will continue, including assistance with building recording studios and connecting artists with professional managers.

Mutarisi shared his personal reflections on social media, stating, "I believe I've done my part in the entertainment space. From the lockdown days to helping lift a few artists, we pushed as hard as we could, and I'm proud of the impact we made. But now it's time for a new chapter. My focus is shifting fully to entrepreneurship, building businesses, and mentoring the next generation of Zimbabwean entrepreneurs."

The announcement has prompted emotional responses from artists who rose to prominence through Nash TV. Nisha Ts, one of the platform's notable beneficiaries, expressed a mix of sadness and gratitude, saying, "This wasn't just my workplace; it was the place that introduced me to the world and believed in my voice before anyone else did."

As Nash TV closes its doors, the platform leaves behind a legacy of nurturing talent and shaping Zimbabwe's contemporary entertainment landscape, while Mutarisi charts a new path in entrepreneurship and mentorship.
