Zanu PF has expelled former Mashonaland Central provincial youth secretary for Environment Loice Chenjerai with immediate effect after the party's National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) found her guilty of violating the party constitution.

The decision is contained in a July 14, 2026 notice issued by Zanu PF headquarters, in which Secretary General Advocate Jacob Mudenda confirmed that the Politburo had upheld the disciplinary ruling at its 393rd Ordinary Session held on May 27, 2026.

The NDC found Chenjerai guilty of contravening Article 37, Section 549 (1), (4), (6), (10) and (16) of the 2022 Zanu PF Constitution over the circulation of what the party described as divisive, inflammatory and abusive audio messages.

Following the Politburo's endorsement of the findings, Chenjerai was expelled in terms of Article 36, Section 523(6) of the party constitution.

The decision was also communicated to the Mashonaland Central Provincial Coordinating Committee in Bindura.

Chenjerai's expulsion forms part of a wider set of disciplinary rulings involving several Zanu PF members in Mashonaland Central who appeared before the NDC.

In a related case, former Mazowe District Coordinating Committee (DCC) chairperson Tafadzwa Musarara was removed from all party positions with immediate effect.

According to the headquarters notice, the Politburo upheld findings that Musarara had contravened Article 13, Section 159(2), Section 152 and Section 156, as well as Article 38, Section 550(10) of the 2022 party constitution.

Musarara, however, retains his status as an ordinary card-carrying member.

His case remains subject to further internal review, with Mudenda directing National Political Commissar M. Machacha to convene the Conflict Management and Resolution Committee to examine the matter, including reported personal differences, and submit recommendations ahead of the next Politburo meeting.

Five Zachariah was also removed from all party positions, including his position as Provincial Secretary for Finance in the Muzarabani DCC, after being found guilty of contravening Article 38, Section 550(10).

Zachariah will retain his ordinary party membership.

Tapera Saizi, Secretary for Health, Child Welfare and the Elderly in the Muzarabani DCC, received an oral reprimand after being found guilty of contravening Article 38, Section 550(10) and Article 37, Section 549(15).

He was cautioned against future conduct inconsistent with party rules and regulations.

Meanwhile, Novieti Muponora, Provincial Deputy Secretary for Legal Affairs in Muzarabani District, was suspended from holding any party office for three years and removed from her position with immediate effect, while retaining ordinary membership.

Rolson Mutunda, Provincial Secretary for Administration in Muzarabani District, was similarly removed from office and barred from holding any party position for three years, while retaining his membership.

The latest rulings highlight the party's use of its internal disciplinary structures to enforce compliance with its constitution, with sanctions ranging from oral reprimands and removal from office to suspension and expulsion.

Chenjerai's expulsion represents the most severe sanction in the latest batch of Mashonaland Central disciplinary cases, while other members have received varying penalties across Mazowe and Muzarabani districts.
