Government has been urged to promote national dialogue on second- hand clothing before effecting a ban on the products which are sustaining the lives of thousands of people.

Debate on the issue heated up on Tuesday in the National Assembly with Mutasa Central MP Trevor Saruwaka (MDC-T) questioning if proper investigations were done before Finance minister Patrick Chinamasa decided to ban second-hand clothes in his mid-term fiscal policy review.

Zimbabwe National Traditional Healers' Association (Zinatha) president George Kandiero said the issue of secondhand clothes was very sensitive and needed serious national dialogue to look at its implications economically, spiritually and health wise.
