A MAN has decided to deprive his wife of sex after he was ordered to pay her $3,000 in damages after cheating on her.
Sithembiso Sibanda, a teacher at Dakamela Secondary School in Nkayi, was sued by his wife, Prisca Sibanda, after he impregnated a fellow teacher.
"We've not been intimate since December last year and I'm not sure whether he still wants me as his wife," said Prisca as she was seeking a protection order, accusing her estranged husband of assaulting her.
The couple has two children together, aged five and three years.
Sithembiso told the magistrate that he was no longer interested in Prisca after paying her the $3,000.
"I had a child with a colleague last year, but I thought Prisca and I had resolved the issue. I was shocked when she took me to court and I was ordered to pay her $3,000 in adultery damages, so I see no reason to continue sleeping with her as I've already paid her," said Sithembiso.
Prisca alleged that her husband often sleeps with his mistress in their matrimonial home, which he denied.
He told magistrate Mutshina that Prisca bit him on his arm after he took her mobile phone and discovered love messages on Facebook between her and a man from Swaziland.
The magistrate ordered the couple not to verbally or physically abuse each other.
She also ordered them not to threaten each other in anyway.
