Allow Catholic Priests to marry

The resignation/firing of Chilean Catholic Bishops over cover-up of sexual abuse of young boys is 'too little too late'. Churches must be places of hope, solace, healing and worship, not the devil's workshop. From long back some Catholic 'fathers' have been reported to be engaging in unbecoming behaviour, something the church did very little to curb or stop.
If the Catholic Church incorporated celibacy in its doctrine to enhance concentration on preaching the word, events on the ground have proved the move wrong. In view of the aforementioned, I think the Catholic Church should seriously reconsider its celibacy policy and allow the catholic priests to get married. The temptation to indulge in uncouth behaviour would gradually wane away with time and forensic vetting when recruiting priests.
Likewise some nuns fail the 'calling' by getting married in later years. The bible does not seem 'loud' on the issue of celibacy, after all Apostle Peter had a wife. Right now cases of sexual abuse at the hands of some priests have put the name of the church into disrepute. Its not good for the millions of catholics who now see the church from a different perspective.
Many men want to work for God by becoming priests but the issue of celibacy is disheartening and discouraging. Allow Catholic priests to get married and save the Catholic Church.
