Abolish this draconian law
18 hrs ago | Views

Zimbabwe is the only African country that currently requires a car radio licence, as introduced by the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) in 2025. This licence must be paid before renewing a vehicle licence disc or insurance, with an estimated annual revenue of US$73 million for the ZBC.
No other African countries are explicitly mentioned in recent sources as requiring car radio licences.
Zanu PF is now a criminal clique that preys on the poor, having lost its revolutionary spirit, and the elite comes first, and the rest eat crumbs fallen from the table.
Expensive radio licenses are another evidence of a top-down policy, as the so-called leaders will be sipping gin and whisky in the comfort of their homes and upscale bars, regardless of how the poor and governed view and experience them. the horror experienced on a broader scale by the destitute and disenfranchised populace.
In South Africa, a light motor vehicle licence is $US33 per year, while a car radio licence is free. Observe how the Zimbabwean government is abusing its citizens.
For a motor radio licence, it is daylight robbery to pay $100. It's absurd. This government is shameless.
Until we take a stand and defend our own rights. Despite this, they will keep doing what they want and show no mercy because they are well aware that Zimbabweans no longer like them.
Zimbabweans ought to oppose this oppressive law that aims to make the nation's residents poorer. Naturally, laws are passed to maintain order and sanity in the society we live in, but we cannot tolerate the existence of such false laws.
Zimbabweans must unite and resist this unjust law at all costs. Seems like it's now a crime for one to have a car.
Just as the previous government stifled the media by passing AIPPA, which was ultimately reversed, such a law is too harsh. We still pass laws that are too severe for the average person. Unfortunately, our parliament lacks the strength and authority to put an end to all of this nonsense. The folks are still suffering even though it has been captured and is unable to speak.
People's hard-earned money is still being stolen by this broke administration, which squeezes what little they receive from the unorganised sector. The kakistocracy system of governance in Zimbabwe is consuming its own children, and the country is already drowning in extreme poverty.
