It appears that the Minister Kazembe Kazembe is out of touch with what is going on in Zimbabwe because he expressed surprise at the number of people who lost their lives while fighting in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and wondered what motivated them.

The minister does not deserve to be in such a position; if he were unaware of what was causing that. These are the drawbacks of selecting public officials based on nepotism rather than merit. In this new administration, there are idiots who simply drive to work, register their duty roster, go through a tavern, have a glass of beer, and then head home to wait for another day.

Indeed, it is tragic. Regretfully, the fact that unemployment, poverty, and a lack of opportunities are contributing factors cannot be avoided.

The majority of our youth leave the country each month in search of better opportunities abroad.

The government cannot act as though it is unaware of the underlying reasons why young people are leaving the nation.

The economy is in ruins; there are no jobs. The leadership has no idea. It's time for them to turn over to the capable. Sadly, the government has failed miserably.

If the government could conduct more research on the nations where our youth are migrating, it would be very beneficial to determine what is actually drawing them there. We need to address the causes before discussing the symptoms.

In the first place, why are Zimbabweans traveling there? There are no jobs, no opportunities, and no safety nets at home.

People flee from desperation rather than voluntarily entering danger. Fixing the circumstances that encourage citizens to risk their lives overseas must be the first step if the state is serious about putting an end to this tragedy.

A nation that neglects its youth runs the constant risk of losing the labor force and skills necessary for the country's advancement. In order for young people to build a future, the government must foster an environment that gives them employment, dignity, and hope.
