Zambian govt must brace itself to mine grabs
05 Nov 2013 at 08:58hrs | Views
As Zambia Republican Party ZRP, we strongly advise the government to brace itself to repossess the mines from some of the greed owners who want to hold the country at ransom.
It's now very clear that some of the mine owners do not mean well going by their behavior. What matters to some of these investors is abnormal profit period! All our successive governments have given the mine owners enabling environment in which to operate, but yet they are busy doing everything possible to squeeze the government and the people of Zambia, like in the case of First Quantum Mines which is believed to have sued this government for billions of kwacha and KCM which has constantly threatened to lay off thousand s of our people on flimsy excuse.
What these mine owners forget is that under normal circumstance, the mines were supposed to be sold to indigenous black Zambians and not foreigners. So by them continuing scheming to hurt this government and our people, they are pushing their lack too far.
I repeat mines are not supposed to be owned by foreigners under normal circumstances, but by us indigenous black Zambians so if these mine owners continue to be stupid, Government should grab what rightfully belongs to us and hand them to capable indigenous Zambians, and never again sell our God given birth right to foreigners. We have thousands, if not millions of skillful Zambians who can run the mines at profit.
We also strongly advise this government to enact or strengthen the laws that compels all foreigners who want to invest in Zambia to partner with Zambians as one of the ways of empowering our own people.
The REPUBLICANS are back!
