Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is targeting 40 points for Premier League safety in a bid to keep his side in the top flight for a third straight season.
The Potters boss guided his side to promotion in 2008 and brought Premier League football to the Britannia for the next two seasons, and even with his team sitting ninth in the season on 33 points, is looking over his shoulder at the bottom of the table.
Pulis told Sky Sports News: "There will be a lot of clubs looking over their shoulders at what happening at the bottom end of this league and it's going to be 40 or more points to stay up this year.
"We're looking to get those points as quickly as we can because there will be a hell of a lot other teams trying to do the same."
The Potters have picked up nine points from their last five games, but Pulis had nothing but praise for his players.
"It's been a very tough run for us but the players have done smashing so far," he added.
