Bulawayo-based musician Obediah Matulana has released his long awaited six-track debut DVD titled: Zihlangele Volume O.M 1.
The dvd was launched on October 4 in Bulawayo and is now available in stores.
In a telephone interview with The Zimbabwe Mail, Matulana said he was glad that he had finally fulfilled his promise to his fans.
"It has been a long wait for the DVD, and I would like to thank my fans for being patient with me as I couldn't deliver it earlier due to financial constraints," he said.
"I worked hard on this DVD to ensure that it provides quality entertainment for my tjibilika fans and am sure that everyone will enjoy watching it."
Matulana said that his dvd encompassed everyone from all languages as there were some songs he sang in Shona, Ndebele, Tonga, Sesotho, Kalanga and other national languages.
"The videos were shot in the city and also in rural areas where I feel my music is mostly appreciated,"
"I get my inspiration for songs from all walks of life and I am proud to say that it makes me happy to see that every time I perform, people always sing along to my songs," he said.
The dvd has tracks such as Divorce number 1, Testingground, I'm sorry, Usathane, Cde Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo and AsambeniEmakhaya, which has been nominated for the Best Song of the year at this year's Zimbabwe Music Awards (Zima).
"It humbles me to see that my works are appreciated in such a way that I was nominated in one of the biggest categories in the Zima and I would like to urge all of my fans to vote for me,"said Matulana.
